Kustantinah, the new FDA boss

Kustantinah, former director general for pharmaceutical and medical equipments at ministry of health, has been sworn in as the new head of Food and Drugs Supervisory Agency (BPOM), Indonesia's FDA. Kustantinah replaced Husniah Rubiana Thamrin Akib, who is known for her close relationship with the previous MoH.
Minister of Health Endang Rahayu Sedyaningsih also appointed Sri Indrawaty as the new director general for pharmaceutical and medical equipments, replacing Kustantinah. It is a promotion for Indrawaty, because she was director for standardization of traditional medicines, cosmetics, and supplement products at BPOM. MoH also has a new secretary general, Mrs Ratna Rosita Hendardji and new inspector general Naydial Roesdal.
BPOM is a powerful institution for food, beverage, and pharmaceutical business in the country. Graduated from Gadjah Mada University, Kustantinah spent most her career as lecturer and researcher at the university's animal science and industry department. A PhD from ENSAIA-INPL, France in 1989, Kustantinah is a member of British Society of Animal Science since 2006.
