Amdocs allowed in Telkomsel tender

Amdocs, a US-based company, is finally allowed to participate in a competitive bidding for billing system at the largest cellular player PT Telkomsel, a subsidiary of Telkom, after the ICT minister Tifatul Sembiring got clearance from US Ambassador about the status of Amdocs. Tifatul initially suspected Amdocs as an Israeli company.
"I have been provided clarification from US Embassy," Tifatul, a politician from Prosperous Justice Party (PKS) said. PKS is known for its anti-Israel stance on international political affairs.
Telkomsel is the largest cellular player in Indonesia with over 80 million users. This company is co-owned by Telkom (65%) and SingTel (35%).
