Yusuf Manggabarani, new deputy police chief

Yusuf Manggabarani has been appointed the new deputy police chief, replacing Makbul Padmanegara. This ends speculations about potential promotion of Susno Duadji, former head of criminal investigation unit at National Police. Meanwhile, Nanan Sukarna, will replace Yusuf as inspector for general supervision at National Police HQ.
Born in Gowa, South Sulawesi, in February 11, 1953. He is the son of the late Andi Hasan Manggabarani, former Polmas Regent, South Sulawesi. He is a 1975 Class at Police Academy. His brother, Ahmad Manggabarani is the director general for plantation at agriculture ministry. Andi Husni Manggabarani, another brother, is currently inspector general of fishery and maritime affairs department.
Older brother Hasyim Manggabarani (ret Colonel) passed away in September 2006. Hasyim was Polmas Regent, just like his father.
Yusuf's daughter is married to Aksa Mahmud's son. Aksa Mahmud is the founder and controlling owner of Bosowa Group. So, Yusuf is a relative to former vice president Jusuf Kalla.
Yusuf Manggabarani's younger brother, Idris Manggabarani, is a property developer. Another brother, Ilyas Manggabarani, is marketing department head of PT Semen Tonasa, cement producer and subsidiary of the state-owned PT Semen Gresik Tbk.
