PLN opens low-rank coal tender

State-owned electricity provider PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN) kicks off open tender for up to 3.26 million tons per year supply of low-rank coal for its new power plants.
Total volume of the contracts would be 65.2 million tons for 20 years of supply. Eligible participants are those with experience to supply over 200,000 tons per year and have minimum mineable resources of 20 million tons. 
PLN needs to secure long-term supply for Teluk Naga and Pelabuhanratu power plants with coal CV 4000-4500 Kcal/Kg, while for Nagan Raya, Pesisir, Bangka, Belitung, Bengkalis, and Tarahan Baru for coal with CV 3900-4700 Kcal/Kg, and Pangkalan Susu, Asam Asam, Selat Panjang, and Tanjung Balai Karimum for coal with CV 4000-4700 Kcal/Kg.
