Govt to inject Garuda US$110 million to fly Red & White Flag
August 17, the country raise the Red & White Flag high. Zero cost? No. Government would inject US$110 million to have the flag carrier Garuda Indonesia fly the Red & White Flag to nowhere.
Isn't it too expensive? Well, some says no, especially those who claimed themselves the true nationalists. It's expensive for those who are skeptical that the US$110 million is never enough to have Garuda off the grounds again.

Government should not just inject cash. Why not require all government officials including executives of state-owned companies to fly Garuda Airlines for their overseas trips at least to destinations where Garuda has direct routes? Then they can connect with other airlines. That itself will generate revenue for the national carrier. At the same time Garuda has to improve service. Other countries require officials to fly own carriers. See US government's travel policy for its officials, contractors, etc. You generate new revenue or cut costs in order to survive.
It's TOTALLY AND ABSOLUTELY WRONG to require government officials to use Garuda for their travel.
Why?
First, there will be not enough travels to cover all of Garuda's expenses, and it will be VERY EXPENSIVE. Yes, taxpayers will pay the price - but it's very UNFAIR.
Second, in order to survive, Garuda need to compete fairly and to serve accordingly to win customers. Let the passengers be the judge - because they're the one who pay the price.
If Garuda can't solve its own problem, then we should let Garuda folded. DON'T WASTE taxpayers money on such a lousy business. Paying tax, that's the TRUE nationalism - and their money should not be wasted.
Just change put and repainting lion logo with garuda and dont forget put red-white.
then lion become flag carier with garuda logo :)
